This Percussion Plus 14" snare drum is ideal for beginner percussionists. It is made from steel rather than wood, this gives a much brighter tone than say a maple or even birch snare drum and tends to produce more of a 'crack' when playing rimshots.It features an internal dampening system, which can be adjusted quickly and easily by the desired amount, simply turn the knob on the side of the drum. This negates the need for moon gel or O-Rings which dull the overtones of the drum.On the underside, the drum has a 20 strand metal snare wires. This is ideal for ghost notes as the more wires you have, the more of the 'snare' sound you will get from the drum.Fitted with a coated batter head and supplied with a drum key for tuning, this is everything you need to upgrade your existing snare or even to use as an auxiliary snare drum.
